The potential role of the IEC program in WIL
International Experience Canada (IEC) is a Government of Canada youth mobility program permitting youth from 18-35 from Canada to have a work-travel experience abroad, while allowing foreign national youth from 34 countries and territories to have a similar experience in Canada. The session will provide an overview of this reciprocal program, and the types of opportunities it affords youth in a general and work-integrated learning context. The session will also discuss the role of strategic partnerships with Canadian-based organizations that receive IEC’s designation as a “Recognized Organization (or RO)”. IEC is preparing a call for proposals to recruit new ROs in Spring 2023, and the session will outline the role and benefits of the partnership to CEWIL members.
